Originally from Cape Town, fashion designer turned photographer Saskia Koerner brings a rare creative intelligence to commercial and lifestyle photography — shaped by boutiques in South Africa, Europe and Bali, refined at Brooks Institute of Fine Art in California, and sharpened assisting legends Mary Ellen Mark, Nan Goldin and Kenneth Willard in New York.

Now calling Auckland home, I work with brands, agencies and publications across New Zealand and internationally — shooting fashion, beauty, lifestyle and women-led campaigns that feel warm, real and alive. My work is rooted in trust. Whether on a beach at golden hour or in studio for a beauty campaign, I create an environment where subjects feel safe enough to be themselves. That ease shows in every frame.

A passionate surfer and adventurer with a deep commitment to female empowerment and sustainability, I'm a natural fit for fashion, lifestyle and socially conscious brands who want imagery that connects. In 2023 I was selected for Women's Work — a national group exhibition celebrating female photographers. My ongoing series Women Rise explores collective joy and the freedom that emerges when women are photographed by women.
